FLOORCLOTH ARTIST KATHY COOPER
On a whim she took a few canvases to a local antique store and within the week her first sales gave her the money to buy more materials. While exhibiting at a craft show, a new store on Madison Avenue in New York City spotted her work and gave her the financial support to paint more. Cooper began to paint floorcloths full-time in her whimsical, colorful style. Since then Cooper has painted floorcloths for customers all over the U.S. and abroad. Kathy paints on Fredrix® canvas and uses it exclusively in her workshops. Kathy Cooper became a pioneer in the revival of this lost art and developed a unique approach to the construction of her floorcloths. Her work has appeared in numerous magazines including Home, Southern Accents, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, Gourmet, Country Living, Woman's Day, and the cover of Where: Atlanta.
